## TabX Terms of Service **Last Updated: July 16, 2026** Welcome to TabX. These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a legal agreement between you and TabX ("TabX", "we", "us", "our") and govern your use of the TabX Chrome extension, our cloud services, and the website **[tabx.dev](https://tabx.dev)** (together, the "Service"). By installing or using TabX, you agree to these Terms and to our **[Privacy Policy](https://tabx.dev/pp)**. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service. **In plain terms:** TabX remembers the pages you read so you can find them again by meaning and ask AI about them. To do that, the content of the pages you browse is stored in your private cloud memory and, for AI features, sent to the AI and search providers we use. The Service is provided as is, AI answers can be wrong, and you use it at your own risk. The sections below spell this out. --- ## 1. Who We Are TabX is a browser productivity tool operated by its publisher. You can reach us at **[tabindex1@gmail.com](mailto:tabindex1@gmail.com)**. Our website is **[tabx.dev](https://tabx.dev)**. --- ## 2. Eligibility You must be at least 13 years old, or the minimum age of digital consent where you live if that is higher, to use TabX. If you are under the age of majority in your country, you must have permission from a parent or guardian. --- ## 3. What TabX Does TabX indexes the pages you browse into a private, per-user memory and lets you: - search that memory by meaning, not just keywords; - get short AI summaries of what you are reading; - ask questions about your history and open tabs through @mention chat; - run ad-free AI web searches; - group tabs into color-coded stacks and replay your browsing as journey-map timelines. Features, limits, and pricing may change over time as the product evolves. --- ## 4. Your Account and Sign In - You sign in through Clerk, our authentication provider. Depending on the option you choose, that is your Google account or a one-time passcode (OTP) sent to your email. - You are responsible for keeping your account secure and for everything that happens under it. - Tell us promptly at **[tabindex1@gmail.com](mailto:tabindex1@gmail.com)** if you suspect unauthorized use. --- ## 5. Plans, Trials, Billing, and Refunds - **Free trial:** New users can start a 7-day Pro trial. No card is required to begin. Trials are one per user and may be withdrawn if abused. - **Free tier:** After the trial, TabX keeps working for free. Page capture stays free, and you get up to 5 AI actions per day, shared across history recall, @mention chat, and web search. - **Pro:** Pro removes the daily limit. It is billed through Stripe, monthly or annually, at the prices shown at checkout. Prices may change with notice for future billing periods. - **Authorization:** By subscribing, you authorize us, through Stripe, to charge your payment method on a recurring basis until you cancel. - **Cancellation:** You can cancel anytime from the billing portal or by emailing **[tabindex1@gmail.com](mailto:tabindex1@gmail.com)** from your sign-up address. Cancellation stops future charges; it does not by itself refund the current period. - **Refunds:** Pro payments are non-refundable by default. We do not offer a standard refund window. If you believe your situation warrants one, you may write to us at **[tabindex1@gmail.com](mailto:tabindex1@gmail.com)**, and we will review the request on a case-by-case basis and decide at our discretion. Any refund we approve is processed through Stripe. Nothing here removes refund rights the law gives you that cannot be waived. - **Taxes:** Prices may exclude taxes. You are responsible for any taxes that apply to your purchase. --- ## 6. Acceptable Use You agree not to: - reverse engineer, decompile, or tamper with the Service, except where the law expressly permits; - use TabX to capture, store, or distribute unlawful, infringing, or harmful content; - attempt to break, overload, probe, or bypass our security or usage limits; - resell or share your access, or use the Service to build a competing product; - use the Service in any way that violates applicable law or the rights of others. --- ## 7. Your Content and the Permission You Give Us "Your Content" means the page content, URLs, titles, queries, and related data that TabX captures or that you submit. - Your Content stays yours. We do not claim ownership of it. - You grant us the permission we need to host, copy, process, and transmit Your Content solely to operate the Service for you. For example, to store it in your cloud memory, generate embeddings and summaries, and send relevant parts to the AI and search providers listed in our Privacy Policy so features work. - You are responsible for Your Content and confirm you have the right to let TabX process it. - You can turn off capture at any time in settings, and you can ask us to delete your data. AI Features and Their Limits TabX uses third-party AI models, through OpenRouter, and web search providers to produce summaries, chat answers, and search results. - AI output can be inaccurate, incomplete, or out of date, and it may state things that are simply wrong. - The scroll-and-highlight feature is in beta and lands on the exact passage only part of the time. - You are responsible for checking anything important before you rely on it. - TabX does not provide legal, medical, financial, or other professional advice, and AI answers are not a substitute for a qualified professional. --- ## 9. Third-Party Services The Service depends on third parties, including Clerk (sign in), Stripe (payments), OpenRouter and its model providers (AI), and Bright Data, Exa, and Serper (web search). Your use of those features is also subject to those providers' terms. We are not responsible for third-party services, and their availability is outside our control. --- ## 10. Privacy Our **[Privacy Policy](https://tabx.dev/pp)** explains what we collect and how we handle it. By using TabX, you agree to it. --- ## 11. Availability and Changes to the Service TabX is offered on an ongoing, best-effort basis and is still evolving. We may add, change, suspend, or remove features, limits, or plans at any time, and we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. --- ## 12. Termination You can stop using TabX at any time by uninstalling the extension and canceling any subscription. We may suspend or terminate your access if you break these Terms, misuse the Service, or fail to pay. On termination, your right to use the Service ends. Sections that by their nature should survive, such as disclaimers, limitation of liability, and indemnification, continue to apply. --- ## 13. Disclaimers The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be accurate, reliable, secure, uninterrupted, or free of errors or data loss, or that AI output will be correct. You use TabX at your own risk. TabX is not certified or accredited under any privacy, security, or other standard. --- ## 14. Limitation of Liability To the fullest extent permitted by law: - TabX and its publisher will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, or business, arising out of or relating to the Service, even if advised of the possibility. - Our total liability for all claims relating to the Service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 6 months before the event giving rise to the claim, or 50 US dollars. - Some places do not allow certain limitations, so parts of the above may not apply to you. In that case, our liability is limited to the smallest extent the law permits. --- ## 15. Indemnification You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless TabX and its publisher from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses, including reasonable legal fees, arising from your use of the Service, from Your Content, or from your breach of these Terms or of any law or third-party right. --- ## 16. Changes to These Terms We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the updated version at **[tabx.dev/tos](https://tabx.dev/tos)** with a new "Last Updated" date. If we make material changes, we will make reasonable efforts to let you know. Continuing to use TabX after changes take effect means you accept them. --- ## 17. Governing Law These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except where mandatory local law gives you rights that cannot be waived. --- ## 18.
